Two adventures in one: Camel’s Back Park: Borah family Part 1

Two hours may not seem like a long time but in reality- with little kids, you really can accomplish a lot on that small amount of time.

Kids have short attention spans and when they want to stay on the move, they really want to stay on the move. Hiking is great for kids in this way because they can get a lot of their energy out and explore and do all the things they want to do in a short amount of time. And I can be there to capture it all!

Hiking in the foothills of Boise can be a great way to explore and see nature. There are so many places to see and things to do while on the trail. Some trails are obviously harder than others. This one, however, is not too bad. The initial climb up to Camel’s Back can be hard if you take the stairs. But if you want a leisurely hike to the top then there is an option to go around. Both are well seen when viewing them from the park so you can take your pick!

This family decided they wanted to go up the stairs. This meant I also had to go up the stairs and let me tell you- it’s not EASY! But once you get up there, the views of the city are magical and picturesque. I wonder what the night view would be like here. That might be my next trip out.

Once around the hill, you have creek access, bridges to climb over and a sand dune to play in. Also available is a small pond to hang out. So there is lots to see and lots to explore. Make sure to watch for other hikers, dogs, and bicycles as they use this trail also. Just have fun!

Much love,
