Outdoor activities farther from Boise: City of Rocks National Reserve

City of Rocks is a granite- face climbing site. Climbers find the granite of the Almo Pluton to be some of the best. About 700 routes have been developed. City of rocks also has access to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Winter is great for snowshoeing and skiing!

Hours: 365 24/7. Winter months some roads are impassable.

Visitor Center Hours: Summer 8am-4:30pm Winter/Fall Wednesday-Sunday 8am-4:30pm, closed on holidays

Wi-Fi: Available to the public

Activities: Hiking, climbing, camping, birding, auto touring, horseback riding, mountain biking, hunting and archery, fishing, winter activities. Check nps.gov for detailed information on which trails are best for you 

Camping: Please check website for campground reservation season information, permits, and fees at nps.gov

Pets: Allowed at the park but must be kept on a leash within 6ft
