Outdoor activities farther from Boise: Box Canyon Nature Preserve/Thousand Spring State Park
March 29, 2022

Box Canyon is one of the five units that make up Thousand Springs State Park. The trail will lead you to a piercing blue spring. Access to this pool is from the lookout. If free- climbing down the canyon isn’t an option, there is another spring that is much easier to access, that is equally as remarkable with its bright blue waters, just a mile longer down the trail. After your hike down, jump in the cool water for a refreshing break! At the base of the canyon, on your way to the spring, you will also be able to view a 20ft waterfall, which is considered one of the most gorgeous falls Thousand Springs State Park has to offer.
