Black Cliffs along the Boise River leading to Lucky Peak provides year-round climbing. The cliffs are made of volcanic columnar basalt and provide ideal handholds and footholds. Best time to climb is Spring and Fall to avoid extreme temperatures. Access is easy and usually not crowded.
Getting there: Take hwy 84 to the Gowen rd/Highway 21 exit. Take Hwy 21 towards Lucky Peak

The short cliffs and Mid Cliffs are the best areas to get quick climbing sessions in.
